Myrtle A. Dodge, 104, of Milford, NH and formerly of Nashua, NH died Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the Crestwood Nursing Home in Milford.
Born May 11, 1913 in Weare, NH she was the daughter of the late George and Fannie (Paige) Rice and the widow of George Hylands Dodge, who died in October of 1961 and with whom she married on July 20, 1935 and with whom she celebrated 26 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by one daughter, Joyce E. Russell, as well as several other family members.
Prior to her retirement, Myrtle had worked for Christian Party Rental. She was an avid reader, enjoying novels and biographies. She also enjoyed needle point, crocheting, sewing and knitting. She was an accomplished baker who enjoyed baking from scratch. She enjoyed walking, exercising her whole life as well as hiking with her husband. Myrtle was an avid nature lover and was known by all who knew her to be a sweet, gentle, kind-hearted person.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Glenna Rosenstein and her husband Harry, of Nashua; one son-in-law, Bruce D. Russell, of Bolton, MA; four grandchildren, Roland B. Russell, of Bolton, MA, Dr. George H. Russell, of Portland, ME, Nathan M. Rosenstein, of Los Angeles, CA and Andrea A. Rosenstein, of Dorchester, MA; one niece, Elaine Bickford, of Concord, NH.
SERVICES: There are no visiting hours. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 12:00 pm in the chapel of the Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock St., Nashua, NH 03064.
