Nannette M. Hamberger, 58, of Milford, NH passed away peacefully at Community Hospice House in Merrimack NH surrounded by family and friends following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was the beloved wife of John Hamberger, with whom she shared 34 wonderful years of marriage.
She was born on May 3, 1959 in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of the late Carlos and Ann (Piquet) Hunter.
A strong, independent person, she attended the Franciscan Academy in Syracuse, followed by college degrees at Onandaga Community College and SUNY Geneseo, where she met her husband. Many wonderful years followed raising a family in Canandaigua, NY before moving to Milford, NH in 1999. She began working at Helfman, Lasky and Associates Focused Eye Care of Nashua as an Opticians Assistant, where she remained for 18 years right up until the end.
Nannette simply adored her family and enjoyed times at the beach, camping, kayaking, motorcycle rides with her husband, and family trips to Upstate New York, Maine, Montana, and California. She reveled in her newer role as “Grammy” to her grandchildren Landen and Ryland Hamberger and took great pleasure in being a large part of their lives.
During her battle, with the help of doctors at Southern NH Hospital, and later, Massachusetts General Hospital, she fought hard for as much quality time with her family as possible. With the help of her sister Toni Hunter-Barnes and many friends, she was able to travel to see the Grand Canyon for the first time and enjoy quality time with her sisters Michelle Ross and Terri-Lynn Ackerman in Montana. Ever the selfless, loving person, her granted wish from the Dream Foundation was to take the grandchildren to Disney World, which she enjoyed immensely. Throughout her ordeal, she has been our hero and a true Warrior fighting for as much quality time as possible with her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband John Hamberger, her daughters Kristyn N Hamberger and Shalyssa M. Hamberger, and son Brendan J. Hamberger, all of Milford, NH, as well as her grandchildren Landen J Hamberger and Ryland G. Hamberger. Sisters Toni Hunter-Barnes, and her husband Larry Barnes, of E. Syracuse, NY, Michelle Ross, with her husband Joseph Ross, of Ronan, MT, and Terri-Lynn Ackerman of Cut Bank, MT, as well as, many nieces and nephews.
