Margaret “Peggy” Lavoie, 70, of Hollis, NH, died November 24, 2017, at St. Teresa’s Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Manchester, NH.
She was born on December 21,1946, to Adrien and Margaret (Hogan) Lavoie in Nashua, NH.
Peggy graduated with honors from Rivier University and Northeastern University. She was a dedicated educator who enjoyed her thirty-six years as a social studies teacher at Alvirne High School in Hudson, NH. After retiring from Alvirne in 2004, Peggy taught part-time at Merrimack High School for one year.
Peggy is survived by her brothers and their wives: John and Ruth Lavoie of Hollis, NH, Donald and Susan Lavoie of Milford, NH, and Paul and Charlotte Lavoie of Amherst, NH, and her sister Mary Koes of Litchfield, NH. Her ten nieces and nephews and ten great nieces and nephews were the pride and joy of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Adrien and Margaret (Hogan) Lavoie.
Peggy’s whole life was about giving to her students, her family, her friends, and those in need around the world.
SERVICES: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Christopher’s Parish, 62 Manchester St., Nashua, NH, at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 1, 2017. Interment prayers and burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery. Memorial donations may be sent to St. Teresa’s Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at 519 Bridge St., Manchester, NH. Our family is most grateful to the entire staff of St. Teresa’s for their loving and expert care.
