Obituary for Clara ""Ganis"" Hines (Robinson)

Clara Hines, known to many as “Ganis,” age 82, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at the Lowell General Hospital. She was born on July 11, 1935, in Darlington, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Helen (Capers) Robinson and JD Mury.

Clara proudly worked as a welder for the General Motors Company as one of the first women to be allowed on the manufacturing line. She was also a licensed hair dresser and a licensed nurse practitioner. She was a member of the New Fellowship Baptist Church in Nashua for over twenty years and often worked as an usher. She had a love for gospel music and enjoyed playing cards and going to bingo. Most of all, Clara loved her family. She would always cook for them and host the holidays in her home. She also looked forward to family road trips and family reunions in Marshfield, MA.

In addition to her mother, Clara was predeceased by two sons Cliff “Prince” Robinson and James Hines, a brother Bobby Robinson and sisters Romella Hall and Thelma Morgan.

Clara is survived by her loving husband James Hines and their children Louise Cabral of East Boston, MA, Alicia Hines of Lowell, MA and Renee Hines of Tewksbury, MA, a brother Edward “Henry” Robinson of Boston, MA and five grandchildren, Taunika, Michael, Ashley, Cliff and Chaunté. Clara also leaves behind five great grandchildren, Haley, Arianna, Adrian, Jayden and Bianca, a very special niece Natasha Robinson and many other extended family members.

Clara will always be remembered for her favorite sayings, “Pass it along” and “Love you more.”

SERVICES: Family and friends are warmly invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, November 29 from 9:00-11:00 AM at the New Fellowship Baptist Church, 50 Ash St., Nashua. A funeral service will start promptly at 11:00 AM also at the New Fellowship Baptist Church, with Rev. Bertha Perkins officiating. Interment will take place on Thursday, November 30 at 12:00 PM at the Pocasset Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
