Obituary for William "Bill" Marshall
William A. Marshall, 96, of Nashua, NH died at Crestwood Nursing Home in Milford, on Monday, October 9, 2017.
He was born on March 2, 1921 in Nashua, NH, a son of the late Roy F. and Kittie (Grover) Marshall.
Bill was the widower of Evelyn (Goodwin) Marshall. She died on November 19, 2011. They shared over 49 years of marriage.
He is remembered as a devoted brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed traveling with his wife to Bermuda and England. He also enjoyed visiting his extended family in Canada, Florida, North Carolina and New York
Mr. Marshall’s career was primarily in the insurance industry. He had worked for several companies and was the owner and operator of the Bill Marshall Insurance Agency for 20 years.
Bill was elected to the Ward 2 Clerk for 50 years, working on numerous local, state and federal elections over the years. He received an honorary award for his dedication for being Ward 2 Clerk for 50 years
Mr. Marshall was a WWII Veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in England and France.
He was an active member of the Pilgrim Congregational Church in Nashua. He had served on many committees and boards and also served as their treasurer for many years. He was also the church’s oldest living member and longest continuous member.
Besides his beloved wife and parents, he was predeceased by his son-in-law, Stephen Atkinson, and a grandson, Matthew McLennan.
Mr. Marshall is survived by his children and their spouses, Richard and Carrie St. Jean, Andrea and Mark Schmookler, Carol St. Jean, Nancy Atkinson, Pamela St. Jean and Edward and Janet St. Jean; his grandchildren and their spouses, Lisa and Jeff Regner, Glenn and Tiffany Liguori, Lynsay and Dave Brown, Nicole and Ryan Sykes, Caitlin St. Jean, Ashley and Derek Antinoro, Andrew Atkinson, Craig and Choi St. Jean, Connor St. Jean and Angela McLennan; numerous great grandchildren; his brother Jack Marshall; his sisters, Carol Marshall and Eleanor Beals; and several nieces and nephews
SERVICES: A Memorial Service in his honor will be held at the Pilgrim Congregational Church, 4 Watson St., Nashua on Friday morning, October 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM with a reception to follow at the church. Burial and interment prayers will be private and held at the convenience of his family.
